The Laboratory of Automation and Robotics (LAR) was established in 1990 within the Division of Systems and Automatic Control of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, Greece. The main purpose of LAR is to serve educational and research needs in the field of automatic control systems, robotics, industrial automation, complex and intelligent systems. LAR participates in the educational needs of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, covering thematic areas, such as theoretical analysis of control systems, robotics, signal and systems, industrial information technology, intelligent systems, adaptive control, stochastic control, simulation, theory and practice of large and hierarchical systems, fuzzy cognitive maps, etc. In parallel, LAR participates in basic and applied research projects to heal specific problems of production and development.
